The No Man’s Land Foundation presents Pian de Pian Piano for No Man’s Land Foundation, a permanent site-specific installation by Alvin Curran.

A piano in the middle of a walnut forest… “…an absolutely biological product in which sound and nature fuse in total harmony, as if a grand piano had fallen purely by chance from the heavens right in the middle of No Man’s Land. It lands and continues to play a concerto for piano and symphonic forest … a melody with no beginning and no end.” A.C

The sound/visual installation curated by Zerynthia – Voluntary Contemporary Art Association, was created specifically to be an essential part of No Man’s Land by Yona Friedman with Jean-Baptiste Decavèle.
Alvin Curran, the American composer who for decades has resided in Rome, takes music out of its designated places around the world, experimenting with new modalities of interaction with spaces and with the public.

At the same time, in the old oil mill of the Palazzo Casamarte, in the heart of Loreto Aprutino, Francesco Fonassi and Fabio Perletta present a site-specific sound installation curated by NOW New Operation Wave. Two synchronized sounds mark the difference between the hard work and rest of the oil workers.

The event is held in conjunction with the exhibition of the English landscape photographer Michael Kenna, promoted and organized by the Loreto Aprutino Civic Museum Foundation, curated by Vincenzo de Pompeis.

The No Man’s Land Foundation, with offices in Loreto Aprutino, aims to propose a model of ethical and social renewal, a project for developing the land through contemporary art, something which can be repeated all over the world.
